post dispatch

When the Pulitzer Prize winning St Louis Post Dispatch moved out of their longtime, historic home at 900 N Tucker, they chose to work with us, little ol mademan design…it’s humbling, it’s crazy.

Downsizing and modernizing, much attention was given to space planning, taking stock of existing inventory, services, and personnel. Working intimately with department heads over an extended period of time, the new design whittles away ‘remnant’ technologies and provides a more flexible, digital workspace. Planning for the changing post-COVID office work environment, the concept balances open seating areas with many more intimate spaces, encouraging both employee interaction as well as autonomy. Recognizing The Post’s intent to simplify and streamline, the material palette is clean and limited, physically representing the focus on honesty, transparency, and truth. Designed for resiliency, the space should satisfy the changing needs of The Post for years to come.
